Five-time World Champion Sami Jo Small

Sami Jo and Billy Bridges

Olympians Sami Jo Small and husband Billy Bridges check out her photo board at the St. Vital Museum. Goaltender Sami Jo, a five-time world champion, won Olympic gold in 2002 and 2006. She played her minor hockey on boys' teams at Norberry, Windsor and Glenwood Community Centres before moving to the St. Vital Victorias of the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League. In 1998, she earned a track scholarship to Stanford University. Billy, a forward on Canada's sledge hockey team, won gold in the 2006 Paralympics in Torino, Italy.
