The Morier Brothers, Horace & Oscar, walk eastward across St. Mary's from their home at 476 St. Mary's Road, c. 1900. The Moriers were prominent market gardeners in St. Vital in the early 1900s. Their gardens covered much of the land between Morier & Haig avenues stretching between the Red & Seine rivers. The family also purchased acreage on south St. Anne's Road, near what is now Nova Vista Ave.
